Kate is a creator of connections and has been committed to bringing about positive change in health and care for over 30 years.
Kate’s passion is partnership and believes that by working together we can improve the lives of those living with chronic health conditions and their communities and has worked at local and national level in the Third Sector across volunteer management, community development, peer support, mental health recovery, health service improvement and stakeholder engagement.
Kate has a particular interest in patients working as partners to encourage learning and development for trainee clinical staff and regularly works with the University of Hertfordshire as part of their adult nursing programme.
Kate lives with a multitude of chronic health conditions herself which has shaped and enlightened her professional career. Although she has had to deal with the loss of her own identity through physical and emotional trauma many times over, her belief in gratitude and hope keeps her smiling.
