Patient as partners

Patient as Partners for Change

Recent work includes:

People with TB as partners for improvement

We are working with TB Alert to develop networks of people affected by TB in London. This is in order that they can better shape local needs assessments and service design and feed into regional and national decision-making.

Patient Panel at the IHI / BMJ international quality and safety event

David Gilbert, our Director, was one of five patient panellists at this year’s international quality and safety conference. As well as DG featuring in the Big Debate (link here) on whether ‘patients know best’, the panel provided input as to how the event, plenary sessions and workshops modelled principles of patient partnership. It also provided recommendations for next year’s event in Gothenburg.

The Benefits of Engagement

David has now completed his CLAHRC NW London Fellowship project on ‘the benefits of patient engagement’. A blog on the emerging findings can be found at http://tinyurl.com/npghyem
